Effective Date: 23 November 2025
Terms and conditions governing the use of Mindtend's platform and services.
Mindtend Ltd ("Mindtend", "we", "our", "us") is a UK-based online platform that facilitates secure introductions between clients and independently verified, qualified therapists. Mindtend does not provide therapy services and is not involved in the delivery, supervision, or regulation of therapy sessions.
Important Notice:
Mindtend is not suitable for crisis support or emergencies. If you or someone else is at risk, call 999 or contact the Samaritans on 116 123 (available 24/7, free of charge). The Mindtend platform must not be used for emergency situations.
Mindtend provides a secure referral platform that allows clients to:
Schedule online sessions delivered independently outside the platform:
Therapists listed on Mindtend are independent practitioners. They are not employees or agents of Mindtend and are solely responsible for the quality of the therapeutic services they provide. Therapists must hold recognised UK qualifications and be registered with a professional body (e.g. BACP, NCPS, UKCP), maintain valid professional insurance, and comply with ethical and legal obligations.
Mindtend assumes no clinical responsibility for therapeutic outcomes. Therapists have full discretion in accepting clients and determining their therapeutic approach.
By using the Mindtend platform, you agree to:
All therapy sessions arranged with a therapist discovered through Mindtend must be booked and paid for via the Mindtend platform. This ensures your privacy, security, data protection, and a clear record of your sessions. Sessions arranged privately or off-platform are not protected by our Terms, and Mindtend accepts no responsibility for their outcome or conduct.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mindtend disclaims all liability for:
Our liability is limited to the amount paid to us in the 12 months prior to any claim, except in cases of proven negligence, fraud, or liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
The platform is provided “as is”, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free performance.
You agree not to:
Violations may result in immediate termination of your account.
We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Please refer to our Privacy Policy to understand how your personal data is collected, used, and stored. By using the platform, you agree to our handling of data in accordance with this policy.
For the avoidance of doubt, Mindtend operates an introductions and bookings facilitation platform only. Therapy services are provided independently by therapists, who are neither employees nor agents of Mindtend. In data protection terms, Mindtend is the data controller for platform operations (e.g. accounts, matching, payments facilitation), whereas each therapist acts as an independent data controller for all personal data processed in the course of providing therapy services, including any clinical/therapy records (e.g. assessments, notes, diagnoses, session content).
Mindtend does not access or control such clinical data. Clients should contact their therapist directly to exercise data rights in respect of therapy records.
Therapy sessions are private and confidential between you and your therapist. Mindtend does not access or monitor session content. By registering, you agree to receive communications regarding your account, session bookings, and essential service updates via email.
If you are dissatisfied with the platform, please email cs@mind-tend.com. For complaints about a therapist, we encourage resolution directly with the therapist or their professional body. Mindtend is not a party to the therapeutic process and does not mediate disputes between clients and therapists.
All content, branding, and system functionality on the Mindtend platform are the property of Mindtend Ltd or its licensors. No materials may be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission.
By booking a session, you acknowledge that therapy will take place via secure online tools. You accept the limitations and risks of remote therapy and agree to inform your therapist of your location at the start of each session, if requested.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. You will be notified by email of any material changes. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance.
Mindtend shall not be held liable for delays, failures, or disruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of nature, internet failures, pandemics, cyberattacks, or government restrictions.
If any clause in these Terms is deemed unlawful or unenforceable, all other clauses will remain valid and in effect. These Terms, combined with our Privacy Policy, represent the entire agreement between you and Mindtend regarding use of the platform.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. All legal disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
